I know this case is a bit old now, but in terms of that Deposition Invoice: 1) $950/hour seems high; 2) I thought it was common practice to charge a minimum 4-hour or half-day fee for depositions - do some experts do that?
Yep, I've definitely seen experts charge by the half day or full day. Even more so for trial. The attorney that hires you will (almost always) pay it, but the issues is that the opposing counsel pays the bill when they take their turn deposing you, which is where you get some arguing about fees. 950/hour is pretty high, especially for a few years ago, unless you truly have niche expertise. 500-750 is much more common I think. I've seen some judges issue a ruling that an expert can only be paid 500/hr despite charging much more than that.
