Wow, very sad case. I've found a few malpractice cases related to either using or not using chlorhexidine.
i'm not aware of local anesthetic toxicity from lidocaine at that relatively low rate, that would cause paraplegia? even if intrathecal? something is missing in this case.
Agree, something doesn't add up. Wish they had more evidence or proof for their arguments.
